For Men who don't have to try too hard Missus !

Must be the time of year, I've  been a bit nostalgic. Nostalgia eh ! it's not good as it used to be.
My Dad passed away a couple of years ago and I inherited his bottle of Old Spice. It says Best Before 2020 but I'm gonna stick with it. Actually doesn't smell too bad, quite acceptable really. Old Spice was the after shave lotion of choice  for the more mature gentleman who wanted to smell fresh like they'd just been surfing in the ocean to the sound of large orchestral music. Back when I was a teenager ( not that I shaved much ) more choices were introduced. There was Hai Karate for men who liked Kung Fu and wanted to smell like Bruce Lee. There was  Denim for men who  don't have to try too hard and wore a lot of denim. There was Brut for men who liked to smell like a brute and English Leather presumably for men who were into leather ?

As I entered my twenties with some disposable income I graduated to Paco Rabanne, Aramis ( because I wanted to smell like a French musketeer ) Oscar Da La Renta ( like a Dominican Clothes Designer ) and later Chanel's  Antaeus because I wanted to smell like a Greek mythological Giant of Libya who was into wrestling !  I settled for Antaeus to this day because I like its spicey sophisticated odour and I'm a spice sophisticated kinda bloke. Mind you at about seventy six quid a bottle I'm not a regular at splashing it all over.
These days Colognes of choice seem to be celebrity based ? Clavin Klein, Armani, Manchester City !  There's Beckham for those who want to smell like David Beckham, a really Posh Spice of a scent and Trump for those men who want to wear cheap gold sneakers and smell like shit.

Make Cologne Great Again !
